Lighting That Elevates: The Story of The Buren, Bussum

When designing the lighting for The Buren, Bussum, the goal was more than illumination—it was about setting an unforgettable mood. A beautifully designed restaurant and wine bar, Even Eleven curated an atmosphere where Murano glass lighting plays a starring role.

1. Creating Warmth and Intimacy

Lighting shapes the way a space feels, and in hospitality design, it’s everything. At The Buren, Bussum, the choices were deliberate:

  • A Small Alabaster Pink Sakura Chandelier above the bar, inviting guests into a warm, softly lit space.

  • Two Medium Pink Sakura Wall Sconces in Pink Dip that frame the bar area with a delicate glow.

  • Three Caia Chandeliers Small in Pink and White in the bistro area, creating a cohesive and welcoming ambiance.

  • A Long Willow Chandelier in a mix of Amber, White, and Transparent Glass cascading down the staircase, guiding guests effortlessly through the space.

  • All metal finishes were painted gold with a patina to blend seamlessly with the rich, warm interior.

2. The Impact of Statement Lighting

The right chandelier or sconce is more than a light fixture—it’s an art piece. Murano glass captures and transforms light, creating an experience rather than just illumination.

3. Bringing This Concept into Your Home

  • Use lighting to define areas within an open-concept space.

  • Customize glass colors and finishes to match your interior.

  • Layer different sizes and placements to build depth and warmth.
